Geothermal heat pumps from dual air handle heating and cooling duties as well as produce the majority of hot water for the home. They are up to 80% more efficient than traditional air conditioning systems with a seer rating in the upper 30’s. It is a groundwater system that is used in conjunction with supply and discharge wells developed on the property by Centerline Drilling. Evacuated solar tube collectors from Solarus will be a redundant hot water source Tank less gas water heaters will be used as a backup hot water source |

Wind Turbines (2): 600w Vertical Axis Wind Turbines by Urban Green Energy Solar PV Panels: 11.5kw solar system designed by Coronado Solar to utilize the latest PV technology. The panels are high efficiency and frameless. They are made in the usa by 1SolTech. The combination of wind and solar as well as solid concrete structure with closed cell/open cell foam insulation and Low E insulated impact resistant windows should provide a net zero home that will produce enough power to run the home as well as providing excess power that can be sold back to FPL through the grid for credit. A battery back-up system will insure that there is enough power to run essential components of the home in an emergency situation. Solar panels are rated for 160mph winds and the wind turbines are easily folded down and secured during excessive wind events. In the event of a prolonged power outage 2020 should not be affected at all as long as there is no major component damage. The home will also utilize natural gas for select applications. |
